Intertextuality would be important when studying ideas for our music video. We would need to portray a style that has proved effective on other media texts. When faced with picking a style to go with, we haven't shown a specific style but it is clear what our music video is trying to present. The idea of love and romance installed into our music video is very much like a modern day 'Romeo and Juliet', which is essentially the greatest love tragedy of all time.
When we are showing the actors in our music video it is important that their actions are believable. Primarily it is set in Modern day but we have considered Romeo and Juliet as a story and studied the modern film adaptation featuring Leonardo Di Caprio. We have tried to perform a love tragedy and the Shakespearean writing of a well known love tragedy is effective to work off of. Despite not following the conventions of a love tragedy, we have taken aspects and portrayed them in a way which would be full of meaning and effect.
